Pool Pump & Motor Repair in Las Vegas
Your pump runs more hours in a Vegas summer than at any other time of year. When it quits, the water turns quickly.
Signs it's failing
- Shuts off mid-afternoon, then restarts once it cools (thermal overload)
- Screeching or grinding (bearings)
- Humming without spinning
- Water dripping under the motor (shaft seal)
- Breaker trips
The Vegas heat angle
Equipment pads here often bake in direct sun, sometimes against a west-facing block wall. A motor that's already working hard because of a clogged basket, a dirty filter or low voltage has very little margin left. Shade that still allows airflow can help, but never enclose a motor so it can't breathe. Details in why pumps overheat.
Repair or replace
A failed capacitor, seal or bearing can often be repaired. An old single-speed pump with several problems is a candidate for a variable-speed replacement. NV Energy has offered efficiency programs at times, so check its current offerings directly. We don't list rebate amounts.
